All District Accountability Committees should be aware that there will be a hearing on proposed new Rules for Accreditation at CDE on Wednesday, March 5th. Watch the CDE website for the time and room. The website should also have a copy of the proposed rules posted soon. Parent input is important on this issue! Please read the proposal and attend the hearing.

We have several major projects under way, and we would welcome your contributions and ideas:
Revision of the Handbook for Colorado Educational Accountability. In addition to updating the book to reflect changes in law and regulations, we are adding details to the section on writing school improvement plans and adding a chapter on school finance.
A set of multimedia productions that can be distributed via DVD to all districts. This DVD would include short instructional videos as well as PowerPoint movies on a variety of topics that would interest those involved in accountability.
Planning for a Denver-area accountability meeting. We would like to get together with representatives from DAACs across the metro areas to share resources and best practices. The information gathered would be added to our CSAN resources, and all attendees would be mailed a CD with the gathered documents.
